Campbelltown Arts Centre is pleased to announce Ticket Parade, an exciting learning opportunity for enthusiastic and committed students from Years 10 – 12 studying Dance or Drama at school.

Ticket Parade offers students from the Macarthur region the opportunity to attend a series of professional contemporary performance, dance or theatre productions across greater Sydney.  Students will also be provided exclusive ‘backstage’ access and the opportunity to talk with the creative team; directors, writers, actors or technicians.  This experience will be guided by Campbelltown Art Centre’s Education and Curatorial staff.

The program will include 4-5 weekend or evening events that will run from the end of August to October 2019, beginning with Sydney Theatre Company’s Lord of the Flies on Saturday 24 August.  A full Program Schedule listing the events, dates and locations will be issued in early August 2019. The program will take place outside of school hours during the students own time and independently from their teachers and parents. The students will be under the care, supervision and leadership of Campbelltown Art Centre Education and Curatorial staff at all times. Transport each way will be provided by a professional bus service with the pickup and drop off point being Campbelltown Arts Centre, 1 Art Gallery Road Campbelltown.

This program is free for participating students.

Benefits to Students
Ticket Parade is designed to complement students’ High School studies, giving them the chance to learn about new processes and methods of contemporary theatre and dance production. It will enable students to learn about vocational pathways in the arts and their potential to pursue tertiary creative studies and a career in the arts. The project aims to be an experiential learning process, linking students to each other, to professional  Sydney-based arts  companies and contemporary practitioners.

Application Process
There are 10 places available for students studying drama or dance at school.  As places are limited it is important that each student can commit to the entire program, attending each production. To apply please follow the steps below: 

1. Please submit your application by midnight on Friday 2 August 2019.
2. The applications will be assessed C-A-C staff and students selected to participate based on their responses to the questions outlined in the application form.
3. C-A-C will then contact you and your parent/carer by email to let you know the outcome of your application.
4. C-A-C will send your parent/carer a form for any medical needs and photo permissions as part of this program. You will need to return a signed copy of this paperwork prior to commencing the program.
5. C-A-C will send you a schedule of the program with dates of each production and travel times by Thursday 8 August.
