Excursions
Campbelltown Arts Centre offers a range of dynamic, engaging, low-cost school excursions. We offer everything from guided tours of our current exhibition to hands-on creative workshops for all ages with professional artists. Guided tour of current exhibition
Guided tours of our Current Exhibition, utilize a range of different ways to engage with contemporary visual art, including hands-on activities, performative responses, group discussion, architectural design and scientific invention, sketching or photography tasks as appropriate to the age and interests of your students. We also offer guided tours of our sculpture garden.
Options: In-school artist talks, artist facilitated workshops or curatorial presentations are available for a limited number of excursions. These are designed to offer an extended engagement with an artist or exhibition by introducing students to themes or approaches prior to their visit.
Ages: K – 12 & tertiary
Cost: Free for up to 50 students (2 groups)

From the Collection
Schools are invited to arrange viewings of works from the Campbelltown Arts Centre collection, with a selection of up to 8 works. Art-work selection allows students to examine specific subject areas, individual artists, historical movements, or art forms. The collection includes contemporary, locally significant, historical and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander works. Topic areas include: Contemporary art, Historical collection, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, Local artists, Photography, Portraiture, Landscapes, Sculpture, Textiles and Surrealism.
Option: Workshop following viewing, with practical art-making incorporating themes, approaches or techniques used in historical or contemporary works.

Creative Arts Excursion Days
Campbelltown Arts Centre regularly collaborates with local schools to develop excursion programs exploring a range of subjects and approaches to art-making. Creative Arts Excursions are designed to grow young people’s love and enjoyment of all the arts, while extending and challenging their understanding what art can be. Students will work directly with practicing artists. Excursions can be tailor made to suit subject areas, ages and size of your group; program can be themed or focused on inter-disciplinary and emergent practices.
Options: In-school artist talks, artist facilitated workshops or Curatorial Presentations are available for a limited number of excursions. These are designed to offer an extended engagement with an artist or exhibition by introducing students to themes or approaches prior to their visit.
Ages: K – 12. This excursion is highly recommended for years 7 – 8, prior to selection of electives.
Cost: $20 per student. Limited availability.
Numbers: Up to 100 students (four groups of up to 25 students)

Japanese Culture
Sketching tour of Japanese gardens, with practical workshop options including Japanese tea ceremony, calligraphy, origami and ceramics.
Options: This workshop can be combined with exhibition tour and/or visual arts workshops upon request. Please speak to us if you require a shorter excursion, able to be programmed at a reduced cost.

Cost: $12 per student
Numbers: Up to 100 students (four groups of up to 25 students)
