David Griggs | Between Nature and Sin

In 2017, Campbelltown Arts Centre presented the first major survey of Australian artist, David Griggs. Currently based in Manila, the Philippines, Griggs is famous for his bold anarchistic approach, and takes the everyday, flipping it to expose the cracks, exhuming the raw undercurrent of a society.

BETWEEN NATURE AND SIN features a decade of past paintings, photographs, videos, and the premiere of COWBOY COUNTRY, an epic feature film following the story of a kidnapped American Filipino teenage help captive for ransom. Set in a fishing village and produced collaboratively with the community, this film features Soliman Cruz, the late Dante Perez and Melanie Tejano.

The exhibition catalogue includes extensive images of David Griggs’ work as well as the installation at Campbelltown Arts Centre, and features written contributions by Michael Dagostino and David Griggs, Jarrod Rawlin, Megan Monte and Siddharta Perez
