Dance Workshops with Feras Shaheen
Throughout 2018, Campbelltown Arts Centre is working with locally based soccer player and hip hop dancer Feras Shaheen to facilitate in-school dance workshops.
This is a free program for local schools, available to classes in years 6 – 9 with options for full year-group presentations.
This schools program leads on to Feras’ residency and collaboration in new work Klapping, at Campbelltown Arts Centre in December 2018.
Participating schools are also invited to visit C-A-C during this residency, to view work in progress and speak with artists as they develop their work.
Klapping – Ahil Ratnamohan
Collaborating with Campbelltown based soccer player and hip hop dancer Feras Shaheen and following on from a development in Belgium in October 2017 this new work by internationally renowned choreographer Ahil Ratnamohan will undergo a further three week development at C-A-C in 2018. The work looks at a fusion of hip hop with the movements and steps of soccer drills placed in a choreographic framework. This ground breaking new dance work will be performed outdoors and is set to premiere in 2019.
