Bangarra Dance Theatre presents Macq
Saturday 13 October | 4:30pm
Join us for a free community performance of Bangarra’s Macq at Campbelltown Arts Centre, supported by local group performances and a BBQ.
Bangarra dancer Jasmin Sheppard created the work Macq acknowledging a moment in our past, exploring the historical chapter that devastated the Dharawal people of Appin in 1816, under the direction of Governor Macquarie. Bangarra will perform this passionate and political work for the south-west Sydney community, bringing it back to Country – to the land that inspired it.
Come along for a free community BBQ at 4:30pm followed by local performances and Bangarra’s Macq.
*WET WEATHER CHANGES*
Due to the wet conditions, Bangarra’s performance of Macq will be moved from the Amphitheatre into the gallery space.
Taking works back to Country is a vital part of Bangarra’s creative life cycle therefore despite the rain we will be providing Bangarra with the opportunity to present Macq to the community. Capacity is limited to 150, if you wish to join us please register your attendance for entry – REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW FULL.
